An Associate in Biblical Studies (ABS) requires 60 units of credit and a Bachelor in Biblical Studies (BBS) an additional 60 units, or a total of 120 units of credit, which is the equivalent of approximately 40 courses. DKST requires specific courses in the General Education category, varying from 27-30 units, which are best taken in the first two years of the program. In addition to the above courses, the student aspiring to the BBS degree must complete a minimum of 60 units within the curriculum presented which will define the major area of Biblical Studies noted on the diploma. The additional units needed to fulfill the total of 120 units can be in other subject matters, including credits transferred from previous studies or, with prior permission, taken concurrently at other institutions.
General Education Requirement
Every student must complete the General Education requirement of the university. General Education coursework prepares DKST graduates to think critically, communicate clearly, and live responsibly in a diverse world. The knowledge and skills students acquire through these courses serve as a foundation for successful careers and lifelong journeys of growing understanding and wisdom. At DKST, we attempt to thoughtfully integrate faith and ethical convictions so that students may apply them in all dimensions of life. These requirements are listed just before the Course Listing.
