We offer an ecumenical, intellectually rigorous, and spiritually rich environment in which to deepen knowledge, deepen faith, and prepare for leadership. We are grounded in and sustained by the conviction that development studies are powerful, relevant, and transformative for the world of the 21st century, and we believe we are called to educate leaders who will inspire and move people to a more loving, just and peaceful world.

I have spent my life in community development projects in Latin America and around the world, as well as supervising Ph.D. students in the USA. I trust this University will be a legacy of commitment to social change and transformative ministries. With a forward-looking, integrated curriculum; a gifted, caring, internationally known faculty; a wide array of resources; and an attentive staff — these should all combine to serve you as you strengthen your faith and prepare for your life of service.
